Celebrating Independence Day by Racing in Beautiful Portland Oregon
At the season halfway mark Pickett leads the Pro FM class championship, Weaver leads FM, and Avansino leads in the FormulaSPEED class
July 4th Weekend, 2015
Portland, Oregon
Over the Independence Day weekend the Formula Car Challenge presented
by Goodyear took to Portland International Raceway for another exclusive double header. The event was held inside of the SCCA U.S. MAJORS tour. This race weekend is a unique event, as some of the FCC competitors also compete in the SCCA races. This event was also the first of three weekends that make up the RaceCast.Me Triple Crown. The drivers who accumulate the most points in the RaceCast.me Triple Crown races are declared the 2015 Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear National Champions for their respective classes.
"Historically our drivers will put close to a thousand miles on their cars during this event," noted World Speed Team Owner Telo Stewart. "The racers really love this event because the track time is phenomenal, and the host region is very friendly and accommodating."

Since 1961, Portland International Raceway (PIR) has been a valuable community resource for motorsports as well as numerous other community activities. Over time, it has developed into one of the pre-eminent race tracks in the United States and has been a regular venue for most of the premier US professional racing series including IndyCar and NASCAR.
Next up on the RaceCast.me Triple Crown calendar is the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma August 27rd-30th. The Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear is a featured series during the GoPro Grand Prix alongside IndyCar at Sonoma. The 11th annual Verizon IndyCar Series event at Sonoma Raceway will serve as the season finale for the 17-race IndyCar 2015 schedule, marking the first time the wine country road course has concluded a major open-wheel series season.
