Sonoma Raceway Formula Car ChallengeThe Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear visited Sonoma Raceway this past weekend for Rounds 7 and 8 of the Pro FM and Formula Mazda class championships. Bill Weaver in the Formula Mazda class grabbed both pole positions and wins, and was largely uncontested all weekend. In the Pro Formula Mazda class John Purcell did the same. While both class points leaders gained more margin on their championship competitors, many others made great strides during this exciting double-header.

“This weekend was really well attended,” noted Series Official Ben Hettema, “There were 29 cars in our group, and 19 of them were contesting for FCC points. We had a handful of new folks join us for the first time, and some racers that we haven’t seen in awhile. The weather was great, and so was the competition!”
