The Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear announced their 2020 schedule today. During the 2020 season the series will be visiting Portland International Raceway, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Auto Club Speedway, Sonoma Raceway, Buttonwillow Raceway Park, and Thunderhill Raceway.
This upcoming season the FormulaSPEED class will feature its own special schedule, on different dates than the other FCC classes. “We designed the 2020 FS schedule to feature a great mix of technical tracks, but also shortened that championship to just six races,” stated Series Official Craig DiGrazia. “Making these adjustments will insure that an arrive and drive season will be below $30k for the entire Formula S Summer Championship. This should allow FS drivers to focus on more testing as their budgets are not focussed so heavily on just the racing events.”
The Formula S class has become an excellent training class for many up and coming drivers. FS racers have gone on to win races in Pro Mazda, Indy Lights, FIA F3, and many of them have been selected by the Team USA Scholarship.
The Pro FM and FM racers will compete in a fourteen race championship. “As has been the model since the series inception, a majority of our events will feature exclusive track time for our drivers,” added DiGrazia. Racers have already started testing for the 2020 season, and the next race on the calendar is the opening weekend of the 2020 Winter Series Championships at Auto Club Speedway in January.
