The Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear announced their updated 2020 schedule today. “We were able to get our opening weekend in just before everything shutdown,” stated Series Official Mark Milazzo. “For awhile we weren’t able to confirm any of the proposed dates, but now that we are moving further into opening we feel as confident as we can that we’ll be able to compete at these events. We just completed a successful and safe second weekend earlier this month at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway, and expect our upcoming races to follow similar protocols.”
The series was able to secure the same number of races, but swapped the Portland event for Auto Club Speedway later in the season in the interest of reducing travel in the current environment. The series has had 15 racers compete in the first 4 races of the season. In the PFM class Robert Merritt is currently leading the championship, and in the Formula Mazda class Bill Weaver is the leader. Next on the schedule is an exclusive double-header weekend at Sonoma Raceway on June 26-28th.
