Beginning this season, SCCA National has moved the spec Formula Mazda cars into the new FX class. Many of our competitors, friends, and marketing partners have been asking how this will affect our FM championship.

The Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear will continue to host a championship for spec Formula Mazdas for the foreseeable future. “This will work in the same way that our Pro FM championship has always worked,” stated Series Communications Director Mark Milazzo. “The Pro FM is classified in the FA class, but we only calculate points in the PFM championship for cars that meet the FCC regulations for Pro FM. In the same way, only Formula Mazdas that are prepared to meet current FCC regulations will qualify for points in the Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear championship. They will race in the same group as the other FX cars, but will be scored separately”

The 2020 FCC presented by Goodyear schedule has already been announced, and World Speed, Mazda and Goodyear are one again committed to providing support and awards to our Formula Mazda racers.
